Delos in autumn: an earlier closing time, and two different official listings

What happened

Delos has a shorter published visiting day for the second half of September. The Ephorate of Antiquities of Cyclades’ Greek timetable for 2026 lists the archaeological site and museum together, with opening hours of 08:00–19:00 from 16 to 30 September and last admission at 18:30. Its dedicated Delos page repeats that dated schedule.

The October steps are already listed: 08:00–18:30 on 1–15 October, with last entry at 18:00, then 08:00–18:00 on 16–31 October, with last entry at 17:30. These are published visiting hours; they do not establish boat departure or return times.

Why it matters

There is a practical discrepancy for readers planning in English. When checked on 17 September, the Ephorate’s English hours page still gave Delos an 08:00–19:30 day and 19:00 last entry, without the autumn date bands. The dated Greek schedule is the basis of the times set out here. For a late arrival, confirm with the site before relying on the longer English listing.

The Delos-specific rows place last admission half an hour before closing. Treat that as a cutoff for entry, not as a suggested arrival time: the visit and the return crossing need their own allowance. Agree the return boat separately when arranging the journey from Mykonos.
