Kardamida courts receive a new 10 December completion deadline
Mykonos Council approved a 90-day extension for the three courts in Ano Mera. The decision records a revised project total of €281,338.62 including VAT, without adding a new budget increase.
Completion deadline extended
The deadline approved by the council
Mykonos Municipal Council unanimously approved a 90-calendar-day extension for the construction of three courts at Kardamida in Ano Mera, setting completion for 10 December 2026. Decision 154/2026 was taken on 15 September and posted in the municipal archive on 17 September.
The project includes resilient surfacing, fencing and lighting. The decision extends the works deadline; it does not announce that the courts are ready for residents or clubs to use.
Read the cost alongside the timetable
The project history in the technical recommendation records a contract signed on 11 August 2025 for €256,192.91 including VAT, with an original completion date of 11 April 2026. It then records a total of €281,338.62 including VAT following the first revised expenditure schedule and first supplementary contract.
Those are two different stages of the project’s cost history. The September recommendation expressly states that the requested extension changes neither the physical scope nor the budget. The higher recorded total should therefore not be presented as an additional sum newly approved by this deadline decision.
What remains to be established
The technical recommendation says the delays are not attributable to the contractor, but does not set out their specific causes in this four-page decision. It also does not provide a complete sequence of intermediate deadlines between April and December.
For local users, the next substantive milestone is documented completion and an announcement of access arrangements. A construction deadline alone supplies neither opening hours nor permission to use the facilities.
